Purchasing and supply management skills and personality traits across roles: a job advertisements perspective

چکیده
This paper contributes to a growing trajectory of research on purchasing and supply management skills requirements uses job advertisements as novel source data perspective. Our findings broadly corroborate the extant literature in showing which are required across different hierarchical organisational levels. analysis also identified key hitherto underexplored personality traits by PSM professionals. At holistic level, show that employers have clear consistent view personality: being conscientious able work independently, willing travel, flexible, proactive stress-resistant. However, generally associated with innovativeness, such intellectual curiosity, boundary spanning, sociability or teamwork cooperation, were not found data. Although for junior buyers featured less combined skills, higher number than those more senior jobs at least one trait they heavily emphasised.
